Wu-Yi Tea - Real Weight Loss, Real Proof!
Hello, My Name is Dan and I’m Overweight and Lazy! Well, that use to be me. I’m still a bit lazy but I’m not overweight any more thanks to Wu-yi Tea! After almost keeling over playing indoor soccer one night for what was only about 15 minutes but seemed like hours at the time, I realized I needed to do something about the shape I was in! I wasn’t overly overweight or obese, but I definitely needed to lose weight. I also felt sluggish all the time and was totally unmotivated, ie. a lazy bum.
Having a very busy schedule I started to look for something easy to incorporate in my day and something that wasn’t demanding or strict in nature because I knew my lazy butt wouldn’t stick to it. Enter Wu-Yi tea. This blog is going to share about how I came across Wu-Yi tea, give a step by step account of how I used it to lose weight and show you the exact teas that I used. I’m a simple dude and I’ll be cutting thru all the hype and BS that I found when I was first google’n for info and direction in making a choice to try this stuff out.
Anyway, you may be in the same boat I was a little over two months ago. I’m now 20 pounds lighter and feel ten times better than before. I won’t be sharing any scientific or medical mumbo jumbo with you but I will share my personal experience and results. If you’re thinking about trying Wu-Yi tea then you might wanna stick with me on this for a short time ’cause it might benefit you too! And yes, that’s really me in the photos, see how happy I turned out in the after photo? =p

Hi Dan,
I have been reading your blog and I just have 1 question if you don’t mind taking the time to answer it. You say you prefer to use the tea leaves. Not being a tea drinker, I am presuming you use a teapot to make your tea, just how much (tea leaves) do you use in the pot to make a cup.
Thanks so much and please keep updating I would be very interested in reading more.

You know, that smiley face on the front of your pants is a bit disturbing.
Actually, scratch “a bit.”
It’s very disturbing.

Hi Vicki,
Sorry for the late reply. Yes, I use a teapot. When I first started I saw and followed the “one teaspoon per cup and one for the pot” direction. However I found that to be a bit too strong, even for me. So what I do now is use a heaping teaspoon for each teapot I make. I use a 16 ounce teapot. I would suggest using a heaping tablespoon for the medium to large size teapots.
Use this more as a guide for making your tea and adjust the amount to your liking. For me, using the one heaping teaspoon makes it turn out just right for me and still holds a great flavor. As I’ve been drinking tea and reading up on it, I’ve found that you could really become immersed in how to brew tea, it’s really quite an art form for many serious drinkers. But, as your average joe, this works for me =p
Hope this has helped. Thanks very much for reading and I’ll do my best to keep updating =)

LoL, you know what mitten, I might have to agree with you on that. Those pics were actually just for me to see my own results after doing this for 2 months. It was a bit of an afterthought and in response to some messages I received asking for before and after shots. I guess everyone has grown accustomed to the whole before and after thing so i went ahead and posted them. My friends definitely got a kick out of that so I still hear about it to this day!

Hey Dan,
Well I just ordered this stuff and I’m not a big tea drinker, so we’ll see how well I do.
A few questions for you. Are you being paid in any way or sponsored to take this stuff? Because after doing some research on the product, I’m beginning to doubt it and very close to cancelling my order. From the testimonials on blogs about hte product, people have been reporting that it doesn’t work and the company is a scam. Does this stuff really work and how much are you paying to use this stuff? There are a lot of people who are angry about this tea. I guess I’m just trying to get info from all sides. Hope to hear from you soon Dan.

Hi Katherine,
Good questions and concerns. I’ll have to answer this one again, I do not work for any tea company and have no kind of sponsors or anything, this is just a personal blog. I do make money with the blog and I say that lightly, because I have google adsense on the pages, if people click on them I get a few cents. You can imagine how much that adds up to be. And you thought my pics were to show my weight loss, in reality it’s because I can’t afford clothes =p
On a serious note, I actually have begun to read up on material that you mention. In the beginning I didn’t go into this full throttle myself, in fact I was skeptical as well.
One thing I’ve always tried to point out, and I think I might have to make clearer or something because this blog seems to have gotten a little traffic to it, but everything I write is just from personal experience. So as I document my results, and talk about how well the tea worked for me, that is coming from my experience and my results.
I’ll never say this has worked for me so it will work for you too because there’s no way to tell unless you try it. As someone many eons ago who use to work out regularly in the gym and took supplements religiously, I know that there were in fact cases where one supplement would work for certain people and others it wouldn’t. So it’s sometimes tough to judge the potential of a product or supplement solely on word of mouth, me included =p
So far I have found material with people on both sides of the fence, of course like most everything that is the case.
I’ll give you an example from my old weight training days. I would hear people say this supplement or that supplement doesn’t work, or this routine or that routine doesn’t do anything for you. I would often chuckle because I would ask some simple questions and most of the time got the same types of answers.
For example, one question I would ask is what did you eat today. Answer… well I skipped breakfast, I had a candy bar and soda when I got to work, ate at McDonald’s for lunch, skipped dinner, ate a piece of pizza before bed, yadda yadda yadda…
Well of course the supplements these people were taking or the routine they were doing wasn’t giving them results! It’s because nothing is a miracle solution, you have to be well balanced.
I suspect that there is some percentage of people(probably high) trying this tea in the same boat. They buy the tea thinking they have to do nothing else but drink it everyday and they’ll lose weight. NO! It doesn’t work like that! Even though I have not had to alter many of my bad habits to great degree, I did modify them slightly! I’ll express this again, if this is what anyone thinks or is planning to do, save your money and blow it on a lottery ticket or something.
As for how much I spend, I think I basically spend anywhere from 60-80 dollars every couple months. I will usually buy my tea by the pound. However, lately because work has picked up and it’s just more convenient, I’ve been using the tea bags more often. So off hand I may be spending less now, not sure. I’m also looking into this new site I found suggested by a reader that I mentioned about in a post. By the look of it they are a cheaper alternative so i’m going to give them a test run and will post more information and thoughts on that soon.
Hope this has helped.

oops! can you give me an idea of your typical day, including diet and excersize?
March 5th, 2008 at 6:37 am
Hi Lindsay,
Sure, as for drinking the tea, I usually drink 3 cups a day. Some days just 2. Basically I always get my tea in the morning and afternoon. I then usually like to drink another cup before bed but don’t always get around to it. For me, I think as long as you get in 2 cups a day at any time you’ll be on course.
For my diet, I have been able to cut out a lot of sugary foods and drinks. I replaced regular soda with diet and I try to drink water more often. I still eat fast food but really try to limit that to the weekends, I kinda use the weekends as my cheat days so to speak. I have cut out all the candy and chips I use to eat so much. When I do eat fast food, I try to get chicken or wrap choices. My diet really isn’t strict. I’ll try to make a few posts soon that give details of what I’m eating and the types of food I’ll get at fast food places.
For exercise I have been jump roping, jogging, biking, some light weight lifting. I recently got something called a kettlebell which is fun and a great workout. I usually exercise at least 2 times a week for 20-30 minutes. Again, I’ll try to make some posts soon to detail my exercising as well.

i just started the wu-yi and i do not really care for the taste. can you add sugar sustitute and still have the same effect??? thanks cindy
March 19th, 2008 at 11:04 pm
Hey Dan,
what do you think about this: (website url taken out, see my reply as to why. Dan) I am lost. I don’t know what to think anymore.
March 20th, 2008 at 6:15 pm
Hey Cindy,
When I first started drinking the tea I was in the same boat as you actually. I had never been a tea drinker. Yes, you can add things like sugar substitute, lemon, honey, etc… and it will not effect the natural qualities of the tea. For me, after sticking with it for a short time the taste really grew on me and now I enjoy it not just for my diet but for the taste. Might work out for you too =p
March 20th, 2008 at 6:31 pm
Hey Whitney,
First please forgive me for editing the website url out of your post. I really didn’t want to do that because #1 I really appreicate the time you took to visit my site and post, and #2 I appreciate your input.
The reason I edited it is because not long ago I took some heat from another webmaster or company who emailed me about their website being posted here. There were varied opinions about it and I guess he or they didn’t appreciate it and made a big stink about it. I ended up deleting the post and a couple of the comments.
This blog is my personal blog, I’m not trying to promote anyone or speak badly about anyone or anything. The information or tea I speak about here is from my own personal experience and is my opinion. Other may share my opinion and still others will have a totally different opinion.
I checked out the site you mentioned not long ago and my opinion on it is really kind of neutral. On one hand they knock a company and their tea yet apparently seem to be promoting others through amazon and ebay I think it was. So for me, I don’t really put much weight with the author’s opinion based on those facts. It looks more like they’re trying to discredit one to “sell” another.
I just ordered tea from this company and actually emailed them with some questions that I had. I’m very happy so far with the tea I received and the email response I got back from them. I’ll be putting this tea to the test over the next month so you’re welcome to check back and see what my personal opinion and experience is with it.
Thanks again for your comment and again, please forgive me for editing it a bit. I just didn’t want to go through another “issue” and get into promotion type stuff. It’s more a headache than anything, especially when some people can’t seem to discuss opinions or differences intelligently and just agree to disagree at times.

Hi Dan,
I ordered my tea around the 14th of March and still waiting for it to arrive. It should be here any day now.(I hope) I need to lose around 20 lbs. and need to firm up. I was wondering if drinking this tea gives you more energy and if you crave carbs any less? Also have you noticed any difference in your skin, like does it look healthier? Overall…. are you happy with your results thus far and would you have been able to do it without the tea??
March 22nd, 2008 at 6:10 pm
Hi Dan,
Please tell honest is that tea help u lost weights. how many pounds u lost so far. i’m afraid that tea might not work for me. i always buy different kinds of diet pills. these not work. so i read about wu yi tea. i feel like that real not fake. but im asking u see if that help u lose weight. i don’t want to rip off again.let me know thanks
March 22nd, 2008 at 11:43 pm
Hey Poe,
Personally I think it has indeed given me more energy. Either that or simply because I was able to lose weight, and especially my gut, that I’m more active, more motivated, and thus more energetic. After incorporating the tea into my diet and making some very minor adjustments, I have in fact cut out a lot of junk food I use to eat. I no longer have those cravings for stuff like soda, chips, snacks, candy bars here or there, etc…
I don’t think I can say I notice any changes in my skin. I know that is reported to be another health benefit of using wu-yi tea and apparently has case studies backing it but again, personally I don’t think there has been a change.
I’m extremely happy with my results, no doubt! As for doing it without the tea, my honest answer is yes and no. Quite frankly we can all lose weight without any diet pill, product, drink, or system as long as we eat right and exercise. I’ve mentioned this before in my blog, this tea, like any other diet product is no miracle solution to losing weight. From my experience it can definitely assist one to lose weight and does it well in my case.
The other side to that is that if we all had ideal situations which allowed us to have plenty of time to work out regularly, have the money and knowledge to eat healthy day in and day out, had daily schedules which were not chaotic, stressful, on the run, and allowed us proper rest, YES, we most certainly could lose weight without the tea or anything else on the market.
The way I look at it is that a large percentage of us don’t have the ideal situations. Thus, things like wu-yi tea and any decent diet product help to balance the situation. It fills in what we lack and need in other areas. By merely making a few minor adjustments to my diet and not having to follow strict guidelines, the tea was perfect for me to lose the weight I needed.
So for those who actually do have the time to work out regularly and diet properly, I really don’t think the tea would be a significant factor for your goals. However, if you’re struggling or have other challenges such as schedules, bad habits, less than ideal eating habits, etc, then yes, in my opinion the tea simply rocks!

I just ordered the tea should be here soon,I was just wondering how long it was before you saw results? and were you exercising from day one when you started the tea? I am a very busy mother of 4 special needs kids so it is very hard to incorporate any me time in the day, will I still lose if I don’t have the time to work out.
April 22nd, 2008 at 11:38 am
Dan,
It’s good for me to see another male testimony. I have been using the tea not on a consistant basis. The teas is good and I ‘m going to try again. The instructions were not clear as to what you could eat, but I saw some of your comments and I’ll try again. Can you drink it cold? I mean can I make a batch of tea and drink it that way or is it better to drink hot? What times of the day do you drink the tea?
Thanks for any suggestions - Atlanta Ga.

Hi Dan, I have the same question as Misti. I actually received my tea about 6 days ago and nothing..not one pound not anything..I’ve been drinking it twice a day and its authentic, certified wu-yi tea. should I be drinking more or is it a hoax or what? I have been exercising everyday and although I had some chips this weekend, I really try to watch what I eat and eat pretty healthy. Just wondering when you started to see results, did it take a week or two and then it started melting off or was it like a couple pounds every week? Just getting frustrated, I have a 30 day supply but I am surprised that nothing has happened so far…thanks for the help..
April 30th, 2008 at 11:36 pm
Hi Misty, Hillary,
I began to incorporate exercise almost right away. It was a bit of a rough start at first but then I got into a regular regimen. I usually exercised at least two times a week for about 20 minutes. If I could do more I would, but this was my general practice for the entire two months I really looked at here on my blog.
For Hillary, don’t give up hope! =p I began to really see the results after a couple weeks, but it did come fairly quick for me. People are different and like all weight loss and work out routines, people see different results.
From what I gather from the various comments of visitors here, the average seems to be about 2-3 weeks when people really start to see the weight come off. A few pounds a week is excellent. It may sound silly, but losing too much weight too fast isn’t really healthy and usually is a short term achievement. You want steady progressive results.
In my opinion, if I had not incorporated some form of exercise into my diet, I don’t think the tea or anything else would really achieve the total results I achieved. Would it do some good, possibly, but not to the degree we would want I’m sure.
I always say this, this tea is great and it really worked for me, but it is NOT a miracle solution. It’s great for people who are busy, maybe a bit lazy, and have hectic schedule because it doesn’t require a really strict plan, but some effort is called for.
April 30th, 2008 at 11:42 pm
Hey Amos,
Yes you can definitely drink it cold. Just prepare it, let it cool then ice it just like iced tea. I usually drink my tea in the morning, then I’ll have one in the afternoon. I use to drink it 3 times a day regularly with the 3rd cup in the evening, but lately I usually drink 2 cups a day. Every now and then I’ll drink a 3rd cup usually to relax in the evening.

Wu-yi Tea is just incredible as I have tried it out for 2 months and absolutely love the stuff. Plus, I hoep its the tea but I have gone down to 6% body fat by just switching my coffee drinking to drinking Wu-yi Tea. I felt a boost in my energy, alertness and satisfied without my normal coffee and diet pop (I know its the devil). Great blog keep it up!
May 29th, 2008 at 3:56 am
Hey,
Body changes don’t happen in a few days, it takes some time and patience. I’ll try the cold tea advice ;). Good luck to all of those trying this!

Hello,
I just have a question, what website do I order this from?
July 23rd, 2008 at 2:37 am
Hey dan!
I got my tea on Monday and have been on it for 2 days? But I did start working about about 2 weeks ago and thought this could be a boost. I have lost 2lbs so far on just working out when really I should have lost 4 lbs in 2 weeks…but girls are completely different than guys. So I”m just taking it easy cutting down on fast food working out 3-4 times a week and now the tea twice a day. I don’t really have a question for you I just wanted to tell you that I am following your blog/success. No wait now i have a question…Did you notice a ANY difference in drinking 3 cups instead of 2? I’m always tempted to have one before lunch…but hate to waste that extra bag if it’s too much. HAHA I sound cheap…anyway talk to you soon!

Hi Dan, just finished watching your video and reading some stuff on your blog. I have a question, why is it in your before and after pictures you have your face blurred out? but you have a YOuTube video showing your face?
I just find it kind of odd, kind of makes it seem like a scam, ya know….
Awaiting your reply

Hey Dan,
Enjoyed your you tube wu-yi tea demonstration. I just received my wu-yi tea. Have been drinking two glasses everyday. Does the tea make you go to the bathroom, like urinate often? This seems to be what is happening to me on the second day of drinking the tea. Thanks for sharing your wu-yi tea journey.
